Wellness Programs

Preventative care is the best medicine for people and for pets. Delavan Lakes Veterinary Clinic will be offering specialized wellness programs for pets of all types and ages that can ensure that your pet has the best chance for a long and happy life. Our Senior Wellness program is the first in a series of Wellness Programs, all designed to provide the best care for a lifetime.

Senior Wellness

Delavan Lakes Veterinary Clinic is proud to announce our Senior Wellness program-an ongoing flat-fee service program aimed to benefit the lives of aging pets. Our pets are increasingly vulnerable to many illnesses as they reach their later years of life. Early detection and treatment of diseases can enable us to extend your pet’s life and improve the quality of it as well. We are currently offering two Senior Wellness programs. Both programs offer a 20% savings off of standard pricing. If your pet is enrolled in our Senior Wellness program, you will receive a friendly reminder when your pet is due for a wellness visit to our clinic. At the time of your pet’s visit, we will also be performing a Senior Wellness profile and screening that includes lab work, blood profile, urine and stool examination, and X-rays of the chest and abdomen.

Pet Accommodations

We have a large boarding facility that accommodates all dog breeds as well as a separate area for cats! Dogs get outdoor activity in outside runs and are housed in air conditioned/heated kennels. Extra care and attention is given to every pet that is boarded. Cleanliness is a priority and ensures a safe and healthy stay with us. We are also equipped to board most exotic pets with advance notice.

Bathing

In addition to boarding your pet while you are away, Delavan Lakes Veterinary Clinic also offers bathing to ensure your companion will be as healthy and happy as possible. We use high quality shampoos and conditioners along with a thorough ear inspection and cleaning.

Surgery

At Delavan Lakes Veterinary Clinic, we are capable of performing routine as well as advanced surgical procedures. In addition to being highly skilled and trained in their area of expertise, our veterinarians stay on top of the latest advances in surgical care, practices, and techniques. We perform all surgeries and dental cleanings with the highest quality of safety and pain management. Special equipment is used to increase our ability to monitor and adjust all anesthetic procedures, which greatly reduces any risk involved during surgery or dental procedures.

Orthopedic

We routinely perform fracture repairs, cruciate ligament repairs, patella (kneecap) luxation procedures, and amputations.

Soft Tissue

We perform Cesarean sections, hernia repair, tumor removal, abdominal surgery, as well as routine spays and neuters of dogs, cats, and exotic species.

Laser Surgery

In many procedures, our new laser can replace the scalpel and provide a better alternative to traditional surgery. The laser is ideal for a wide variety of surgical procedures for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, exotics, and other pets. Laser surgery is commonly used in soft-tissue surgical procedures. Laser technology reduces the trauma to your pet, improves recovery, and often shortens hospital stays. Your veterinarian will be able to tell you if your pet’s procedure lends itself to laser surgery. To learn even more about laser surgery, please visit the FAQ Section.

Benefits of Laser Surgery

Less Pain—The laser seals nerve endings as it “cuts.” As a result, your pet will experience less pain and be more comfortable during the post-operative period.
Less Bleeding—The laser seals small blood vessels during surgery. This speeds many procedures, reducing the time your pet needs to be under anesthesia, which further reduces possible complications.
Less Swelling—The laser energy does not crush, tear, or bruise tissue because the only thing that touches your pet is an invisible beam of light.

Common laser procedures include:

  • Cat declawing, spaying and neutering procedures, amputations
  • Oral/dental procedures
  • Mass removals/dermatology
  • Avian and exotic procedures

Radiology

Our full-service facility is fully equipped to process high quality X-rays which substantially increases our diagnostic capabilities.

Ultrasonography and Echocardiology

Delavan Lakes has the latest technology and specialized training to perform ultrasounds of internal organs as well as echocardiograms of your pet’s heart. Our on-site facilities allow us to directly treat your pet without having to refer to other centers.

Laboratory

An in-house lab is fully equipped to receive results in as little as ten minutes. For more extensive testing, such as detailed blood tests and histopathology, Delavan Lakes coordinates with other labs.
